INTRODUCTION
Background

Kenya Voluntary Women Rehabilitation Centre (K-VOWRC) was founded in 1992 by Prof. Elizabeth Ngugi. This is when she was carrying out a research on infectious disease, and she came across women who came for treatment with different types of STIs at different times. On enquiry the women revealed that they were sex workers and that was why they could not come with their partners for treatment.

Main objective

To reduce the spread of STD/HIV/AIDS through the social and economic empowerment of female, girl child sex workers and HIV/AIDS orphans in Kenya.
